Panel in gas-fired kiln About the firing temperature - this photo shows the kiln temperature dropping slightly because of me trying to photograph the thing. I try and get it up to 1000 deg C, but in reality it only ever gets up to 900 deg C which is fairly high anyway. Here it has probably dropped to somewhere about 750 to 800-ish ? I prefer a high and fast firing to my pieces ( most of my colours are transparent) although I am aware that many enamellers have different methods regarding firing temperatures, depending upon technique and types of colours used.
